By booking or using a vehicle from Self Drive Cars Kashmir, you agree to the terms outlined below. These conditions exist to keep things fair, safe, and transparent for everyone.

Eligibility & Documents

The renter must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driving licence with a minimum of one year of driving experience. Indian renters must carry a valid government-issued ID. International tourists are required to present a passport and a valid International Driving Permit. Only the registered renter is allowed to drive the vehicle unless additional drivers are approved in advance.

Booking, Payment & Security Deposit

All bookings are subject to availability. Rental charges must be paid in advance or at the time of vehicle pickup, as confirmed during booking. A refundable security deposit is required before handover. The deposit amount depends on the vehicle category and will be refunded after vehicle inspection, usually within 3 to 7 working days, after adjusting for any applicable charges.

Vehicle Usage & Restrictions

The vehicle is provided strictly for personal use. It must not be used for commercial purposes, racing, towing, or any illegal activity. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. Vehicles must be driven only within approved travel zones. Certain areas in Kashmir may require special permits, and it is the renter’s responsibility to follow route guidelines shared at the time of booking.

Fuel & Mileage Policy

Fuel costs are not included in the rental price. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as provided at pickup. Some plans include unlimited kilometers, while others have daily limits. Any extra usage will be charged as per the agreed rate.

Vehicle Condition & Responsibility

All vehicles are delivered in clean and roadworthy condition. Renters are advised to inspect the vehicle at pickup and report any existing damage immediately. Any damage occurring during the rental period, beyond normal wear and tear, will be the renter’s responsibility and may be adjusted against the security deposit.

Breakdowns, Accidents & Insurance

We provide 24/7 roadside assistance. In case of a breakdown or accident, the renter must inform us immediately and follow guidance provided by our team. All vehicles are insured as per Indian motor vehicle laws. Any costs not covered by insurance, including deductibles or damage due to negligence, will be charged to the renter.

Traffic Rules & Penalties

The renter is fully responsible for following all traffic rules. Any fines, challans, or penalties incurred during the rental period will be borne by the renter and may be deducted from the security deposit if unpaid.

Cancellations, Late Returns & Termination

Cancellation and refund eligibility depends on the timing of cancellation. Last-minute cancellations may attract partial or no refund. Late returns without prior notice may be charged as an extra rental day. We reserve the right to terminate the rental immediately without refund if terms are violated, false documents are provided, or vehicle misuse is detected.

Liability Disclaimer

Self Drive Cars Kashmir is not responsible for loss of personal belongings, delays caused by weather or road conditions, or indirect damages. The renter assumes full responsibility for the vehicle during the rental period.

These terms may be updated or modified at any time. Continued use of our services implies acceptance of the latest version.
